SAM SEARS, MBA

Sam has over 20 years of experience in leading strategic, financial, and facility planning engagements with specific expertise and interest in ambulatory network planning and both regional and site-specific ambulatory deployment strategies.

His primary responsibilities include leading the development of strategic and financial business plans and feasibility studies, ambulatory network plans, and master facility plans that evaluate service distribution across the entire continuum. He has conducted regional and local webinars and authored a whitepaper and other articles related to ambulatory topics (including freestanding EDs) while providing value-added work relationships with some of the most prominent healthcare organizations in the country. Recently his project work has increasingly focused on ambulatory and continuum of care strategies, ambulatory service, and asset optimization, and portfolio analyses driven by considerations of population health management, increased alignment and affiliations, patient experience and consumerism, and disruptive technologies and service models.

Prior to Percival Health Advisors, he spent five years at Brigham & Women’s Hospital as director of Clinical Research in Cardiac Surgery and 15 years as a consultant, first at Noblis and more recently as Vice President at Hammes Company.

Sam has a Master of Business Administration degree from Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin.

TED CARSON

Ted Carson is a Founder and Principal of Percival Health Advisors where he helps lead real estate advisory engagements with health systems and industry partners. With over 19 years of real estate development, leasing and investment experience, Ted has advised health systems, commercial office users, and retailers on their real estate needs both in Chicago and nationally. Some of his previous engagements include projects for University of Chicago Medical Center, Presence Health, Yale-New Haven Health System, IBM, McDonald’s and Bank of America.

Prior to joining Percival, Ted served as a Vice President at the global real estate services firm, Jones Lang LaSalle and at Hammes Company, a leading developer of healthcare real estate. Throughout his career, Ted has been involved in the leasing or ground-up development of over 2 million square feet of healthcare, office, and retail real estate. As a consultant, Ted has worked with real estate owners to analyze the condition of their portfolios and develop asset management and marketing plans to maximize the value of their assets and attract new tenants.

Ted has a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Government from Princeton University.
